New Content on AccessMedicine

AccessMedicine (available through the Library's Databases link) has announced some new and updated content on their site:

• 10^th Edition of the Review of Medical Microbiology and Immunology
• 17th Edition of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine: Self-Assessment and Board Review, featuring more than 1,000 review questions
• 2nd edition of Current Diagnosis & Treatment: Psychiatry, containing a new section on practice in special settings
• Diagnosaurus, which provides 1000+ differential diagnoses, is now available for the Blackberry.

Calling All Journal Editors for AECOM Library Exhibit

It's time to send in materials for the Library's exhibit recognizing editors of journals and annuals among AECOM faculty. The exhibit will be on display in September. We would like to include all faculty members who presently serve in any editorial capacity on scientific journals, series or annuals.

Please respond with your name, title, department, phone number and the name of the journal and editorial position you hold. Send the information by August 22 to Karen Sorensen, Library, AECOM, Forchheimer Bldg. 1st Floor. Email ksorense@aecom.yu.edu. Phone 718-430-3104.

Natural Standard

The Library now has a subscription to Natural Standard, an international research collaboration that aggregates and synthesizes data on complementary and alternative therapies. The information is evidence-based, consensus-based, and peer-reviewed with the aim of aiding clinicians, patients, and healthcare institutions in making more informed and safer therapeutic decisions.

You can search or browse medical conditions or therapies, compare the effectiveness of alternative treatments, and use various interactive tools, including a nutrition database, an interactions checker, calculators, and other tools.

Additional features include a monthly newsletter and an RSS feed.
